You know that person who reads every label before it goes in the cart, not just for themselves but out of habit. That's not a personality quirk, that's just refusing to get played. Truva exists so you can be that person about your dog's food without spending your Saturday morning on it.
Truva is a small California company started by a dog owner who got tired of the front of the bag. Grain free on every label. Premium on every shelf. Proprietary blends that hide the ratios. The panel on the back told a different story, and reading it properly took work most people do not have time for. So we made that our job, and we made the results public instead of keeping them as our edge.
What the Standard is
The Truva Standard is a written, public test with five weighted checks: ingredient truth, clinical evidence, recall history, sourcing and brand integrity. Products are graded A to D. We carry B and above, and a separate safety question can pull a product no matter how it scored. Every claim on the site has to survive being explained in one plain sentence, that's the whole rule, the logic instead of the magic. Read the Standard
How you can tell we mean it
In September 2026 we re-scored all 38 products we were carrying. Seventeen came off the shelf, including one where the mistake was ours rather than the maker's. We published every one of them with the specific reason. See what we pulled
That is the only real proof available to a company like ours. Anyone can write a standard. What tells you whether it is doing anything is what it costs the person holding it.
What we carry today
Dog nutrition and daily care, and only for dogs. Wet food and freeze dried raw that carries a proper adequacy statement. Single ingredient treats from small US makers. Bone broth toppers. A dental kit for daily brushing.
We do not currently carry a single supplement. Every one we had failed the review in September, and we would rather have an empty shelf than fill it. We are looking for a fish oil that states its EPA and DHA per serving, because omega 3s are the one supplement category with real evidence behind them in dogs. When we find one that passes, it goes up.
Where we are going
Later in 2026 we will release our own daily chew, made to the Standard with the full formula printed on the label. Same five checks, same grade published, no exemption for ourselves. If it comes back a C, you will read about it here rather than in a press release that never happens.
Why we built it this way
Not because your dog cares whether a supplement lists its milligrams. Because you're the one who has to answer for what's in the bowl, to yourself if nobody else. We're not trying to make you feel like a better pet owner. We're trying to make it so you can say, honestly, that you checked, the same way you'd check anything else with your name attached to it.
